Evidence everyone can see and understand

When we lack evidence we wind up with beliefs, not facts; guesswork, not knowledge; wishful thinking, not reality; and aimlessness, instead of vision.

We divide up on partisan lines and shout at one another.

But we can do better. We can use accurate, open computer-modeled simulations to produce real facts that everyone can see and understand. It puts an end to ideological razzle-dazzle.

Spinoff Benefits

  1. Policy-makers will increasingly see open-access computer simulations as a way to reduce partisan bickering and increase fact-based consensus-building.

  2. While our first focus is on New Zealand electricity policy, our big-picture mission is Computing Better Policy. This work is a beacon, guiding future progress.

  3. Our work provides fertile ground for students from high school through grad school to learn more about using computational thinking across disciplines like business, engineering, and the environment.

  4. Our demonstrations of Computing Better Policy will spread to other countries and transnational bodies.
